Patients with Ulcerative Colitis will usually be prescribed a mesalazine also known as a 5-ASA. There are several different brands of mesalazine- each has a different dose and each releases differently in the bowel
You will be reviewed by your IBD Specialist Team within 2-4 weeks

In some cases your flare may require help by using a mesalazine / 5-ASA suppository and / or enema.
